About Us.

We know that starting a life in recovery can feel overwhelming. We also know the beauty that lies on the other side of that fear. What we have found in recovery cannot be given, but we can show you how we did it. We believe that each person has their own journey in sobriety, and that can look very different from person to person. Each person has the right to choose their path to recovery, and each resident is held accountable to committing to that pathway. We are now able to see life through a new pair of glasses, walk down the street with our head held high, and live meaningful and fulfilling lives. We will pass along the tools that were passed along to us, and only ask that you pass them along to the next woman seeking help.

Becoming a Resident
The first step toward joining Bright Spot Sober Living is completing our application and interview process.
Please begin by filling out the Resident Application linked above. This adds your information to our system and places you on our waitlist.

If you are currently in a treatment facility, we ask that your Case Manager contact us directly to coordinate your interview. They can reach us at 803-367-3203 or [email protected].

What to Expect During the Interview
Your interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you — your journey, your goals, and what you’re seeking from sober living. We’ll also walk you through our house guidelines, expectations, and program requirements to ensure we’re the right fit for each other.

If accepted, you’ll either be added to our waitlist or, if space is available, scheduled for an intake date.

Important Requirement Before Intake
All incoming residents must be fully detoxed prior to moving in. This is an essential first step in building a strong and lasting recovery foundation. We strongly encourage completing a detox program or residential treatment to safely transition into sober living.
What We Do.
Our organization is multi-faceted. We start by providing a safe and supportive home for persons in recovery. Our homes provide:
  • A program with 4 phases. Each new phase brings about a little more freedom, and a little more responsibility. Each phase has an assigned curfew, number of meetings per week that each resident attends, and states whether a resident is allowed to take an overnight pass (pre-approved by our house managers)
  • House meetings every Sunday at 6:00 PM where the residents meet with their house manager to check in about the past week, count their medications, do their chores, and fellowship.

We take things a step further by helping our residents reintegrate into society. There are multiple ways in which we help with this:
  • Finding affordable health insurance and scheduling doctors appointments
  • Helping them get their drivers license back (if possible)
  • Providing them with a bus pass and helping to plan a bus route to and from work/meetings
  • One reiki session per month per resident once they get to Phase 3
  • Guiding them in learning to budget, save, manage their time effectively, and prioritize
  • Help create a resume and obtain employment
  • Exploring hobbies to feed their soul

Our Mission.

It is our mission to create a space for women in recovery to grow and heal. We start by providing safe homes with accountability and structure; a safe place to land after treatment or detox. We then provide resources for our residents to reintegrate into society, and teach life skills they may not have previously had access to.

Our Vision.

It is our vision to make a difference in the lives of people recovering from Substance Use Disorder. We are devoted to maintaining our uncompromising morals and integrity as we expand. We will strive to uphold a standard of transparency and consistency, and be a respected sober living organization in our community.
